Rolls of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Waikato Regiments
1863-1867
This CD contains the Nominal and Descriptive Rolls of the 1st, 2nd,
3rd and 4th Regiments of Waikato Militia. The records are in a pdf
file which can be read using Adobe Acrobat. These regiments were
enlisted between 1863-1867 for the New Zealand land wars. There are
nearly 5,500 men named. Most men are listed with their name,
number, date and place of enlistment, place of birth, occupation,
age, height and ship to New Zealand. Many have further notes
regarding their marital status, discharge date and other
details.

records.
Sources used include birth and death registers, records of Howick
Historical Society, the Howick Colonial Village, and obituary
notices from newspapers. The events did not necessarily all occur
at Auckland but relate to early families of that region.

This CD contains over 3,000 birth, death and marriage records arranged
alphabetically in a pdf file. The main source used is the Bay of Plenty
Times notices and news articles. They mainly relate to families from
Tauranga, Te Puke and Katikati but include those from further afield.
